Sunscreen is to be applied as requested by the parent or guardian and only applied by teachers in the afternoon and 30 minutes prior to outside activities. Parents and guardians are responsible for applying sunscreen prior to drop-off. Sunscreen must be over-the-counter and must be approved to be used on children. If ointment is prescribed by a physician, a physician’s note must be filled out. Sunscreen should be applied at home at least once at home to test for any allergic reaction. Aerosol Sprays are prohibited. Sunscreen/Sunblock must provide UVB and UVA protection with an SPF 15 or higher. Sunscreen may not be used on infants under 6 months of age unless accompanied by a physician’s note.
